April 6, 2021 Tax Equalization Meeting
The Lakota City Board of Tax Equalization met on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021. Mayor Brad Hooey called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. All Council Members were present, except Member Fahey who was absent. Member D. Mattern attended via phone conference. Assessor Michelle Linstad, Josh Ulland and Jayme Tenneson were also present.

Member Hess questioned if Assessor Linstad changed the assessment for the two other demolished houses (B. Reineke and T. Tufte). Assessor Linstad stated she did not reduce the value but would make that correction and re-submit to the council.
Assessor Linstad went through the tax exemption properties and reviewed the homestead and veterans credit applications.
Assessor Linstad stated the ratio for property sales/tax values are looking good so far and are around 91%.
Member Vasichek made a motion to approve the property tax changes as presented by Assessor Linstad in addition to reducing the two property values with structures that were demolished in 2020, seconded by Member Hess. On a roll call vote, all voting in favor. Motion carried.
Member Vasichek made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Member Hess. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 pm.
