City Wide Clean Up
When:To help with your summer cleaning the city of Lakota will once again have the landfill open to allow Lakota residents to bring permitted items to the landfill free of charge. Permitting weather conditions, the City of Lakota will have the city landfill open from 12pm-5pm each day on Saturday, June 7th, Wednesday June 11th and Saturday June 14th. There will be someone at the landfill to designate the areas to unload items, staff will not be permitted to unload items for you. The city crew will pick up large items for disposal only on June 11th starting at 7am. Items must be on the berm to be picked up. No rainchecks or return visits. Items not included in clean up week would be construction material, shingles, concrete and all prohibited items. Prohibited Items include Construction/Remodeling material, Paint & Oil, Tires, TV’s, Computer Monitors, Household Waste, Electronics, Mercury Containing Devices, Batteries, Oil, Asbestos Containing Materials, Fluorescent and Incandescent bulbs.
In conjunction with Clean up week, the city will once again be having the ND Electronics Recycling truck come on Wednesday, June 11th from 11am until 6pm at the Lakota Community Center parking lot. This provides an option to dispose/recycle electronics not allowed at the city inert landfill. Some items may be subject to a fee at your own expense.
